Thankful for music

Every time music is less in my life, I feel that my life is less. When I do not see live music or participate in playing live music with others, I feel at a loss that I'm not making an impact. While there are so many important aspects of life, including faith, family, friends, self-care, work and caring for one's home, music takes me outside of myself and daily communications and to another elevated place where communication and art can occur. Where gender, age, race and religion do not matter. Where our skills and talent come together to make something beautiful. That's what I love about music. Where someone, sitting in the audience or singing along in the pit can improve their outlook on a difficult situation they're going through, since someone else has been there before and has made something beautiful about it they can relate to.
