2024 Music Recap
Last Christmas I played two beautiful concerts with the Nittany Valley Symphony in which we played classics like Pachelbel's Canon, Silent Night, and Oh Little Town of Bethlehem. Both concerts were magical experiences, especially the one in the old Bellefonte Presbyterian Church which is no longer an active congregation, but the building which is kept alive through community events like this. When they were over, I did not want them to end.
In February, I played again with NVS, this time we played the Elgar Enigma variations which was so beautiful. I was also sad because I was leaving the orchestra after this concert, so that was bittersweet.
In DC, I played with the Washington Metropolitan Philharmonic, which is a wonderful experience also. We played Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue in March and played an exciting Latin American themed concert in May.
I was fortunate to attend some wonderful music experiences this year, including DelFest in May, seeing some of my favorite 90s bands like Bush and Jimmy Eat World in concert in September, and classical concerts this fall and winter of Schumann's Piano Concerto, Verdi's Requiem, and Handel's Messiah.
In 2025, in addition to starting up virtual and in person lessons again, I also plan to play in more casual, informal groups where making music is as much of a social as a creative function.
Happy 2025!
